Managing the Warehouse in WP Racks Plugin #
The WP Racks plugin provides a comprehensive visual representation of your warehouse layout, allowing you to manage your warehouse effectively. When you click on “Manage” for the warehouse, you are directed to a page that displays the configured warehouse layout. This page uses different shades and colors to indicate various levels and statuses of the bins.
Accessing the Warehouse Management Page #
To manage your warehouse, follow these steps:
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Go to the Warehouses
- Click on the “Manage” button for your warehouse.
Understanding the Warehouse Layout #
Upon landing on the warehouse management page, you will see a visual representation of your warehouse layout.
The layout is designed to provide an intuitive understanding of the storage configuration:
- Racks: Each column represents a rack in your warehouse.
- Levels: Each rack contains multiple levels. The levels are color-coded to indicate their height and status:
- Darker blocks: Represent lower levels (e.g., Level 1).
- Lighter blocks: Represent higher levels (e.g., Level 2, Level 3, etc.).
- Red blocks: Represent filled bins.
- Green blocks: Represent reserved bins (bins reserved for products to be placed in them).
Managing the Layout #
The visual layout allows you to quickly identify the structure of your warehouse and make necessary adjustments. Here are some actions you can perform on this page:
- View Blocked Bins: Identify bins that are blocked from use due to obstructions such as fire hydrants, forklift pathways, or other reasons.
- Monitor Bin Status: Use the color-coding to monitor the status of bins within each rack. Filled bins are shown in red, while reserved bins are shown in green. This helps in planning storage and retrieval operations efficiently.
- Adjust Layout: If necessary, return to the configuration settings to make changes to the number of racks, levels per rack, and capacities. Save the changes and revisit the management page to see the updated layout.
- Click on Bins for Details: You can click on any bin in the visual representation to view detailed information about its contents. This feature allows you to see the product name, batch number, expiry date, pallet ID, and quantity.
Example Configuration #
Here is an example of how the visual representation can look:
- Rack 1: Contains multiple levels with the lowest level being the darkest. Some bins are filled (red) and some are reserved (green).
- Rack 2: Shows a similar configuration with ascending levels becoming lighter in shade.
- Rack 3: Includes reserved bins (green) and unoccupied bins.
- And so on for Racks 4 to 9.
Viewing Bin Details #
Clicking on a bin in the visual representation brings up a detailed view of the contents.
This view includes information such as:
- Product Name: The name of the product stored in the bin.
- Batch Number: The batch number associated with the product.
